She has served on the Executive Committee for East Texas Crisis Center for over twenty years and annually organized and lead a fundraising dodgeball tournament for ten years (Duck and Dive Dodgeball) which benefits the children and families of the Crisis Center. She zealously advocates for children and families in need. For over fifteen years she organized one of the largest doubles volleyball tournaments in Texas which benefitted a summer playground program for underprivileged children who had no place to go in the summer months. Volunteer work, mentoring and teaching is a mission, whether it is providing swimming lessons, volleyball camps, private volleyball lessons, fundraising, event planning, mission trip to Guatemala with her family through Orphan Outreach and/or local volunteer work with various organizations.
Denise enjoys spending time with her family first and foremost. Loves being a mom and new grandma, cooking, traveling, gardening, decorating, hiking, waterskiing, anything fitness or outdoors related. She travels to Yosemite National Park each year and has climbed half dome several times. An avid fitness advocate, she continues to participate in volleyball, running biking, swimming, duathlons, numerous triathlons and has most recently learned how to play pickleball!
Denise has been a part of HBLF since 2022 once she decided she might like a change from the medical field after successfully navigating her practice through COVID19 pandemic. HBLF aligned well with her mission of helping others and being a part of helping marriages end well, especially when it concerns the children.
